Taste of Madison will take place, rain or shine, on Madison Avenue, between West Lawrence and Allen Streets, on "The Point" between Madison and Western as well the surrounding environs. There will be free entertainment and hands-on activities for the whole family. Here is a partial list of free activities and entertainment: Kid Zone, Scavenger Hunt, Bike Polo, Parachute Play, and a Waiters' Race. There will also be a variety of live performances including music, dance, and storytelling., as well as information tables hosted by various community organizations. And, of course, there are the food tastings, all prepared by the many restaurants along this section of Madison Avenue! Tasting tickets are $10 on the day of the event ($8 advance sale) and entitle holders to a variety of food, items, and services donated by area merchants. Tasting providers include:

 Steamer No. 10 Theatre, the City of Albany, Pine Hills Neighborhood Association, New Albany Neighborhood Association, Manning Boulevard Neighborhood Association, and Friends of the Madison are working with area businesses and organizations to plan this event as part of an effort to promote the Upper Madison neighborhood.   Money raised from the event will go toward additional promotion of the area.
