Jack & FriendsSnow WhiteHansel & GretelAlice in WonderlandClinton's Ditch

Each season Steamer No. 10 produces five shows in our Kids' Fare Series. Most of these shows are our own adaptations of fairy tales and folk tales, classic literature, and local history. The casts are made up of kids and adults, allowing young performers the opportunity to learn from their peers.

Jack, The Beanstalk & Friends
November 2011

Jack sets out to market to sell the family cow because the family needs money for food. Along the way he runs into numerous other fairy tale characters such as Little Red Riding Hood, Three Pigs, and Goldilocks, all the while pursuing his own adventures with magic beans and giants.

Snow White
December 2011
Jealousy and Magic, Innocence and Beauty – just some of the ingredients of a poisoned apple destined for Snow White.  The Brothers Grimm wove a compelling tale that is filled with mirrors that can talk, mystery, magic, intrigue, and dwarves aplenty.

Hansel and Gretel
January 2012
This is one of many stories collected by the famous Brothers Grimm. Hansel and Gretel are a young brother and sister who are abandoned in the woods by their parents and then threatened by a witch living deep in the forest in a house constructed of cake and confectionery. The two children save their lives by outwitting her.

Alice in Wonderland
March & April 2012
Lewis Carroll’s story of a girl named Alice who falls down a rabbit hole into a fantasy world – Wonderland - populated by peculiar, human-like creatures. The tale plays with logic which has given it lasting popularity with adults as well as children.
