NorthEast Theatre Ensemble Presents – The Women

by Clare Boothe Luce

Written in 1936, The Women is a classic icon of the era- fashionable, funny and dark. When Mary Haines finds out that her husband is keeping a mistress, the younger more beautiful Crystal, she begins to learn what it’s like to stand up for herself.  In a climate clouded by the rules, gossip, and artifice of Manhattan’s high society, Mary and her companions search for love, friendship, and truth. Through fast-paced dialogue, cutting humor, and timeless wisdom the play exposes the simultaneously ugly and beautiful condition of womanhood.

The Women is directed by Suzanna Bornn* featuring Tressa Brooks as Mary Haines and Janet Hurley Kimlicko* as Sylvia Fowler. The cast includes Emily Fernandes, Shae Fitzgerald, Monica Hoh*, Cori Irwin, Lily Kimlicko, Emily Kosmaczewsk, Deborah Thorne Mazzone, Sheila O’Shea and Christina Reeves
